Victoria Beckham is shedding light on the “traditional” family life she shares with husband David Beckham and their children, even as her well-documented feud with eldest son Brooklyn Victoria Beckham continues to make headlines.
The 51-year-old fashion designer sat down with Elle on Thursday to promote her upcoming three-part Netflix docuseries, Victoria Beckham. During the interview, she reflected on her viral “working class” moment from David’s 2023 hit series Beckham, which showed the couple teasing each other over their humble beginnings.
Asked if fans can expect more candid moments in her new series, Victoria admitted that her family often pokes fun at such clips.
“Even one of our children said, ‘How many times did you film that?’ We were like, ‘No, no. It wasn’t rehearsed,’” she laughed. “That’s what the Beckhams do. We like to have fun. We like to spend time all together. We’re a very traditional family, much more than I think people would realize.”
Victoria Beckham explained that the Beckham household prioritizes family dinners at 6 p.m. daily — a nonnegotiable tradition, even if it means working later into the night. She said maintaining this structure has allowed her to balance motherhood, marriage, and her fashion empire.
“I’ve always tried to be the best mom and wife that I can be,” she said. “After my last show, I remember so vividly the kids and David coming backstage. I had just come off of my exit. And the looks on their faces when they approached me — it was a real pinch-me moment, because I saw how proud they were.”
The former Spice Girl emphasized that her children benefit from seeing both parents pursuing their passions.
“It’s healthy that the children know Daddy goes to work, and Mommy goes to work. Working makes me the best version of me,” she noted.
Victoria Beckham’s comments about family unity come as speculation around her fractured relationship with Brooklyn, 26, continues to swirl.
Reports of tension first emerged in April 2022, around the time of Brooklyn’s star-studded wedding to actress Nicola Peltz. Since then, the rift has reportedly deepened, particularly after Brooklyn and Peltz skipped David’s milestone 50th birthday party in May this year — an event attended by his siblings Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14.
By June, sources claimed Brooklyn was no longer in contact with his parents or siblings. The strain appeared even more public last month during Brooklyn and Nicola’s vow renewal ceremony, where he pointedly excluded David and Victoria from his speech.
“At the center of his heart is Nicola, who he loves very dearly, but also the Peltz family who have really stuck by his side,” a source told The Mirror. “He wanted to recognize them all, and was determined to do them all justice.”
