Art Garfunkel has postponed four UK dates on his What A Wonderful World tour after being diagnosed with a respiratory infection. The affected concerts were due to take place in Watford on 13 October, Manchester on 15 October, Wolverhampton on 17 October and at London’s Royal Albert Hall on 19 October. The postponements affect the entire UK leg of the run, which had been due to finish at one of London’s best-known concert halls.
The singer was diagnosed after seeing a doctor during rehearsals, an appointment his wife Kim insisted he keep. He was advised to rest and recover rather than perform. In a statement, Garfunkel said his “heart is broken” about the postponements and apologised to the fans who had bought tickets. The diagnosis came only days before the first of the UK concerts was due to begin, leaving little time to reorganise. The infection was picked up only because of that visit.
The venues are working on new dates, and ticket holders have been told to hold on to their tickets, which will remain valid. As things stand, Garfunkel’s next listed appearance is at L’Olympia in Paris on 21 October. He is then due to begin a run of US concerts in Virginia on 30 October. No replacement dates had been confirmed at the time of the announcement, and fans have been advised to check with the individual venues for updates.
It is not the first time health problems have interrupted his touring. In 2010, a Simon & Garfunkel reunion tour was called off after he developed vocal cord paresis. He and Paul Simon later reconciled in 2024. This time his doctor has prescribed rest, and only four UK dates have been moved so far.
His most recent album, Father and Son, came out in 2024. It is a collection of cover versions recorded with his son, Art Garfunkel Jr, and much of the current tour draws on that record alongside the songs that made his name. The UK leg had been one of the larger stretches of the run, with the Royal Albert Hall date its London centrepiece. Fans will now wait for confirmation of the rescheduled dates, and for news on whether the Paris concert can go ahead as planned. Garfunkel performed at the Pre-Grammy Gala in Los Angeles at the end of January 2026.
