Druski Tipped to Become First Digital Creator to Host Saturday Night Live

PopularDruski Tipped to Become First Digital Creator to Host Saturday Night Live

Druski is reportedly set to host Saturday Night Live on 7 November. The 32-year-old comedian and social media star, whose real name is Drew Desbordes, would become the first digital creator to take on the role, according to a report from Puck. The booking has not yet been confirmed by the network.

The story was broken on Monday 12 October by entertainment journalist Matthew Belloni. NBC has not officially confirmed the booking, and a representative for the show declined to comment when asked. If it goes ahead, the episode would mark a notable moment for SNL, which has traditionally chosen its hosts from film, television, music and sport rather than from among online personalities. The decision would also reflect how far online comedy has moved into the mainstream in recent years.

Druski built his following through viral sketches posted online, where his characters and skits have been widely shared. He has since moved into more traditional entertainment. Earlier this year he hosted the 2026 BET Awards in Los Angeles, a high-profile live broadcast that gave him experience in front of a large television audience. That job is likely to have counted in his favour as the show weighed its options for the autumn. Hosting a live awards broadcast is often seen as a test of whether a comedian can manage the pace of a live sketch show.

His film career is also gathering pace. He is due to appear alongside Emma Stone and Chris Pine in the romantic comedy The Catch, which is scheduled to reach cinemas in May 2027. Photographs of Druski and Pine filming the project in New York City circulated in August, adding to interest in his move from social media into mainstream comedy and film. The Catch places him beside two established Hollywood names, a step up from the online formats that first made him famous.

The reported date would follow the show’s Halloween episode on 31 October, when Inde Navarrette is set to host with Gracie Abrams as the musical guest. No musical guest has yet been named for the 7 November episode. Until NBC makes an announcement, the booking remains unconfirmed, but the report has already sparked wide discussion online about what a creator-led episode of the long-running sketch show might look like. For now, fans will have to wait for NBC to confirm the line-up for its November episodes.
