Pedro Pascal had family support at the London premiere of his new film Behemoth! on Tuesday 13 October. The 51-year-old actor was joined by his sister, the 34-year-old model and actress Lux Pascal, at the Royal Festival Hall during the BFI London Film Festival. The appearance gave the London festival one of its warmest red carpet moments. The Royal Festival Hall has hosted several of the festival’s biggest premieres this year.
The siblings took contrasting approaches on the red carpet. Pedro wore a yellow and blue striped button-down shirt with light grey trousers and a tan blazer draped over his shoulders, a relaxed look for an evening premiere. Lux chose a long-sleeved red dress by Chanel, which gave the pair’s photographs a strong burst of colour. Their outfits reflected two very different approaches to premiere dressing.
Cast members Eva Victor and Alexa Swinton also attended, as did Tony Gilroy, who wrote and directed the film. In Behemoth!, Pascal plays Alex Serian, a gifted cellist who returns to Los Angeles after 20 years on the road. According to the synopsis, music then sends him on an adventure that changes his life. Olivia Wilde, Will Arnett, Hank Azaria and Matthew Lillard complete the main cast. Gilroy posed with the cast before the screening began inside the hall. Wilde’s involvement first became public when she was photographed with Pascal on set.
The film went through notable casting changes before shooting began. Will Arnett stepped in after David Harbour withdrew for personal reasons, and Pascal himself took over the lead from Oscar Isaac. The production has been one of the more closely followed projects of the year, and its London festival slot gave British audiences an early look ahead of release. Both late changes were widely reported at the time.
Behemoth! opens in cinemas on 4 December. Its appearance in London followed earlier festival screenings, keeping the film in the conversation as the awards season begins. For Pascal, the premiere was also a family occasion, and the pictures of the siblings together were among the most shared images from the festival that evening. A teaser trailer released in July has already given audiences a taste of the film’s tone and of Pascal in the role. Pascal is expected to continue promoting the film in the weeks before release.
