Geordie Greep has cancelled four dates on his North American tour after being accused of sexual misconduct, an allegation he denies. Concerts at the Duck Club in Boise, Idaho, and in Salt Lake City, Utah, were dropped, along with upcoming shows in Boulder and Denver, Colorado. Ticket holders for all four have been sent refund notices. The move came within days of the allegation first being made public.
The allegation surfaced at Greep’s concert at the Pearl in Vancouver, British Columbia. Before the show, a person outside the venue handed out flyers that accused the singer of rape and referred to the morning of 8 October. Greep took the stage about an hour later than scheduled and without his backing band. The flyers drew immediate attention online, with footage from the evening spreading quickly.
He addressed the claim directly at the start of the set. Greep told the audience he had been out at bars with some of his band, met people, and later went to a late-night house party, where he said he made an unsuccessful advance towards someone and apologised quickly. He described it as a misunderstanding on his part and said: “I would never rape a woman.” A clip of his remarks was shared on X on 9 October. He told the crowd it was “a complete misunderstanding on my part”.
Greep said he would perform the Vancouver concert alone because he did not want to ask his band to play after what had happened. He also said the proceeds from that night would go to a local organisation in Vancouver that supports victims of sexual violence. The cancellations of the following shows were not accompanied by any further public statement from the singer or his team. Rolling Stone noted that the cancellations were confirmed through refund notices sent to ticket buyers rather than an announcement.
At the time of reporting, the last two dates of the North American run, in Des Moines, Iowa, and Omaha, Nebraska, had not been called off and tickets were still on sale. Greep is also scheduled to begin a European tour on 1 November. It is not yet clear whether those concerts will go ahead as planned, and no formal complaint or investigation linked to the allegation has been reported. The situation leaves the remainder of his autumn schedule uncertain.
