It is the singer’s first chart-topping album since “Bangerz” reached No. 1 in 2013.
The album leaned heavily on purchases rather than streaming. Of the 61,000 units, 47,000 came from pure album sales, while the release drew 14.2 million on-demand streams of its songs during the tracking week. Pure sales made up more than three-quarters of the total, a split that set the album apart from most current chart leaders, which lean on streaming to reach the top. The strong sales figure reflected support from a fan base that bought the record directly rather than relying on playlist activity to drive the number.
Released Sept. 18, 2026, “Bass Persuades” is the artist’s 10th studio album and the first she has issued under the single name Miley. The project features contributions from the band Model/Actriz and from Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow. Its title track drew the most streaming activity during the week, followed by “Let’s Get Married,” “Different Religion” and “Orbit.”
The debut marked a rebound in first-week performance for Cyrus. Her previous album, “Something Beautiful,” opened with 44,000 units, while “Endless Summer Vacation” arrived with 119,000 units in 2023 on the strength of the single “Flowers,” which won the Grammy for record of the year. “Bass Persuades” reached No. 1 with a smaller opening than the 2023 release, a reflection of a crowded release calendar and the album’s sales-driven profile rather than a broad streaming hit.
Cyrus thanked fans after the chart was announced, crediting their direct support for the result.
