GlobalAmazon Joins the $3 Trillion Club as Its Stock Roars Back

Amazon has become only the fifth company in history to be worth $3 trillion, joining an exclusive club after a sharp rebound in its share price. The stock jumped 15.3% on Friday following a strong earnings report, then added another 5.3% on Monday to push the company past the milestone.

The others to have reached that mark are Apple, Alphabet, Microsoft and Nvidia, a roll call that says as much about the concentration of value in a handful of technology giants as it does about Amazon itself.

The rally is all the more striking given where the stock had been. Amazon’s shares had slid for three months as investors worried about the heavy spending flowing into AI-focused companies. Thursday’s earnings, which came in ahead of expectations, appear to have restored confidence and triggered the move that carried it over the line.

A $3 trillion valuation is a milestone rather than a verdict; it can slip away as quickly as it arrives if sentiment turns. But for now it cements Amazon’s place among the very largest companies on the planet, and offers a reminder of how fast the market’s mood can swing on a single quarter’s results.
