ABC’s crime drama High Potential will air an episode immediately after Super Bowl LXI, which takes place on Sunday 14 February 2027, with the instalment also streaming on Disney+. The placement hands the Kaitlin Olson series one of the most valuable slots in American television, on a night when the game also falls on Valentine’s Day.
Networks usually reserve the post-Super Bowl spot for their highest-rated or most anticipated programmes, and the choice reflects how well the show has performed. High Potential finished the 2025 to 2026 broadcast season as the number one programme among adults aged 18 to 49, the audience advertisers value most. Measured over 35 days across ABC, Hulu, Hulu on Disney+ and digital platforms, it ranked third in total viewers and reached more than 16 million people, placing it among the biggest scripted hits of the network’s season.
The third season premieres in early 2027. Apart from the Super Bowl episode, new instalments air on Tuesdays on ABC and become available on Hulu the following day. Olson plays a single mother with an exceptional mind who helps police solve crimes, with Daniel Sunjata, Javicia Leslie, Deniz Akdeniz, Amirah J, Matthew Lamb and Judy Reyes in the supporting cast.
The series is produced by 20th Television and is based on the French drama Haut Potentiel Intellectuel, known as HPI. Drew Goddard created the American version and executive produces with Sarah Esberg through Goddard Textiles, alongside Nora and Lilla Zuckerman and Olson. Andrea Massaro, also of Goddard Textiles, serves as co-executive producer.
Disney is taking a different approach with Hulu on Super Bowl night. Dan Fogelman’s NFL drama The Land will premiere on the streamer after the game, with its first two episodes arriving on 15 February and weekly episodes to follow. The series is set around the Cleveland Browns and stars Christopher Meloni as head coach Danny Roarke, whose best hope of turning the team around is a newly drafted quarterback who is also his son. Mandy Moore, Chace Crawford, Sam Corlett, Tanner Zagarino, Chloe Bennet, Bridget Moynahan, William H. Macy and Omar Epps co-star. Fogelman’s other Hulu series, Paradise, has been a hit with critics and audiences alike. Disney has already sold out its advertising inventory for the game, and its Super Bowl night plans now span its broadcast network and its main streaming services.
