Elle Fanning Fronts Coach’s Music-Driven ‘Live Your Story’ Campaign

StyleElle Fanning Fronts Coach's Music-Driven 'Live Your Story' Campaign

Coach handed the lead role in its Fall 2026 campaign to Elle Fanning, casting the actress at the center of a project the label calls “Live Your Story.” Rather than a straight fashion shoot, the campaign leans on music and the messy joy of showing up somewhere in person. Fanning appears in a short film shot in Budapest, where she plays a bus driver ferrying a group of young musicians to a festival. The singer PinkPantheress rides along, and the two anchor a cast that Coach built around performers rather than runway regulars.

The clothes and bags stay in view, but the pitch is about feeling rather than product spec. Fanning framed the appeal in generational terms. “Gen Z really embraces everyone getting to be individually who they are and has the support of the community,” she said. She returned to music as the emotional engine of the campaign, adding that a song can hold a moment in place long after it passes. “Music just encapsulates the emotions that you’re feeling in little time capsules for yourself,” she said.

Handbags do heavy lifting across the imagery, with the Tabby silhouette treated as the campaign’s signature piece. Coach tied the launch to a Spotify partnership and a touring bus meant to carry the “Live Your Story” idea beyond the screen. PinkPantheress spoke about leaning on a bag as a nerve-steadying prop during shows. “I used to get really nervous on the stage. I had to carry literally a purse on the stage to feel comfortable,” she said, describing the accessory as a way to broadcast a mood before she sings a note.

Fanning has a long history with the house, which made her the connective thread as Coach widened the cast to include a roster of young musicians alongside her. She praised the brand for holding onto its past while chasing a younger audience. “I think Coach does that so well. They kind of marry the history of the brand with very modern elements,” she said. The comment doubled as a summary of what the campaign wants to be, a heritage label speaking fluently to listeners half its age.

For Coach, the timing lines up with a fall push that treats accessories as storytelling devices instead of afterthoughts. PinkPantheress put the point plainly when she described how she reads her own bags. “A handbag is definitely always going to be a way for me to signify my feelings or what kind of mood I’m in,” she said. The campaign rolled out in the second half of September, arriving as the brand courts a generation that treats personal style as a running narrative rather than a fixed look.
