A rather unusual opportunity has presented itself in Norfolk, where a historic property on the same road as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s home has gone on the market for 1.25 million pounds. The Grade II-listed former Wolferton Railway Station, converted into a substantial private residence, is now being offered for sale.

For a prospective buyer, there is an intriguing prospect attached: Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor lives just metres away. The former Duke of York moved into Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate earlier this year after leaving Royal Lodge in Windsor, meaning the new owner could find themselves living remarkably close to the King’s younger brother.

Wolferton station carries a fascinating royal history of its own. It opened in 1862 on the King’s Lynn to Hunstanton railway line, the same year Queen Victoria acquired the Sandringham Estate for her son, the future King Edward VII. Generations of the Royal Family passed through the station on their way to the estate before it eventually closed and was repurposed as a home.

Marsh Farm sits within King Charles’s 20,000-acre Sandringham Estate. Andrew relocated there after giving up the lease on Royal Lodge, which had been his home for more than 20 years, amid growing scrutiny of his association with Jeffrey Epstein. In October 2025, King Charles announced the removal of the HRH and Prince styles from his brother, issuing Letters Patent to confirm the change and asking the Lord Chancellor to remove Andrew’s ducal titles from the Roll of the Peerage.

Whoever buys the former railway station, then, could find themselves sharing a quiet Norfolk neighbourhood with one of the most talked-about members of the extended royal circle. Between its own place in royal history and its notable near-neighbour, the property offers the kind of story that few listings at any price can match.
