Stefon Diggs, the New England Patriots wide receiver and current boyfriend of rapper Cardi B, is facing a paternity suit from social media personality Aileen Lopera, who claims he is the father of her infant daughter.
According to court documents obtained in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Lopera — better known as Lord Gisselle on social media — filed a petition in December 2024 to determine parental relationship. At the time of her filing, she was still pregnant and listed Diggs as the “parent” of her then-unborn child.
The Fashion Nova ambassador’s petition requested that she be granted full legal and physical custody of the baby while Diggs, 31, would be limited to visitation rights. Lopera also asked that the NFL star pay for her pregnancy and birth expenses as well as her attorney’s fees.
Her daughter, Charliee Harper Diggs-Lopera, was born on April 2, 2025.
In July, Diggs responded to the petition, stating that he was “not certain” if he was Charliee’s biological father. The athlete requested a genetic test to confirm paternity. If confirmed, Diggs said he would seek joint legal and physical custody of the child and proposed splitting both the medical and legal expenses tied to Lopera’s filing.
The paternity dispute surfaced just as Cardi B announced her pregnancy with Diggs’ child. The Grammy-winning rapper revealed the news during an interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings earlier this week.
“I’m excited, I’m happy, I feel like I’m in a good space,” Cardi B said, sharing that she is due before the start of her tour in February 2026.
The “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker, who shares three children daughters Kulture and Blossom and son Wave with estranged husband Offset, filed for divorce from the Migos rapper last summer. Since then, she has publicly accused her ex of being a “deadbeat dad,” alleging that he failed to financially support their children for “a whole year straight” and had seen Blossom only “five times” since her birth.
Cardi B and Diggs went public with their romance in May when they were spotted sharing PDA courtside at an NBA game. Their relationship has since drawn attention, not only for its timing following Cardi B’s split from Offset but now also for Diggs’ legal entanglement with Lopera.
Diggs is already a father to daughter Nova, whom he reportedly welcomed with ex-girlfriend Tyler-Marie in October 2016.
As of now, the court has yet to schedule a hearing for the genetic test that will determine whether Diggs is indeed the father of Lopera’s child.
