The race for this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards has entered its final stretch, with the ceremony set for September 14 at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles. Campaigns for the leading contenders have intensified in the weeks before voting closes, filling late summer with trailers, panels, and renewed publicity pushes.
The awards recognize outstanding prime time television from a qualifying window that closed at the end of May, and the field spans streaming platforms and traditional networks alike. As in recent years, the major services have competed hard for nominations and the attention that comes with them.
This edition introduces a new Legacy Award, meant to honor programs judged to have left a lasting mark on television and the wider culture. The addition reflects the Television Academy’s continuing effort to update the ceremony and its categories.
NBC and Peacock are set to broadcast the show, continuing the rotation of the Emmys among major networks. Producers have shaped the telecast around the goal of keeping viewers engaged through a long night of awards.
With the ceremony approaching, industry attention has centered on which series and performers will emerge as the night’s biggest winners. The final campaign stops gave contenders a last chance to make their case before ballots were counted.
